How to Handle Negative Smack Talk from Competitors

From time to time, I hear other individuals in the marketing and advertising industry complain about competitors conducting inappropriate behavior by talking smack about their work.  They complain about being stabbed in the back by other agencies.  A word of advice…do not concern yourself with what other agencies are saying about your work.  Let your work speak for itself…and believe me if you have confidence in your work, so will your clients.  If you waste unnecessary time worrying about being criticized by those in your field, you are wasting precious time that could be used increasing your own business.  Besides if competitors are talking negatively about you, consider it a good thing!  Some agencies may feel threatened by the quality of your work, your personality, your pricing, etc. and that is actually a good problem to have!   Keep focusing on providing the best quality work for your clients and continue to let your work speak volumes about you and the excellent service you provide.
