As of July 20, 2015, Angie Eckman has been nominated to resume her role as President of the Youngsville Chamber of Commerce. Eckman served as President in 2014 and as co-chair of Marketing & Fundraising in 2013.
Under Eckman’s leadership, the Youngsville Chamber created a new state of the art website which allows members to join online and purchase tickets online for their annual Chamber banquet. The Chamber was awarded a grant for $15,000 which allowed the hiring of a part time administrative consultant to facilitate the day to day functions of the chamber, as well as grow membership. As the chamber continued to grow at such a rapid pace, the luncheon location was changed from Youngsville City Hall to Lafayette First Assembly because they were able to accommodate the growing number of attendees at the monthly chamber meetings.
Eckman also wrote Vision 2020 which provides direction on growth for the chamber. It focuses on how local businesses are intertwined with the City of Youngsville and play a huge role in the overall growth of the city, which enhances the quality of life for the citizens of the community. Eckman stated, “Bringing value to our members is also a big priority for us as a chamber. Our board and committees are comprised of all volunteers and we are all aligned and working towards the same goals.”
