Youngsville Sports Complex Welcomes Shetland, Pinto, Pinto-Plus World Series
YOUNGSVILLE, LA- The Youngsville Sports Complex hosts three World Series events this summer. Last week, the PONY Girls World Series welcomed 98 teams from around the country as well as Mexico. This week, Wednesday July 24 – Saturday, July 27, they are welcoming 48 teams from around the country for the Shetland, Pinto, and Pinto-Plus World Series. Next week August 2 – 5, they will host the Mustang World Series, which is comprised of eight teams; three of which are International teams.
The Shetland, Pinto, and Pinto-Plus World Series will hold its opening ceremony Wednesday, July 24 at 9am at the UL Baseball stadium, ML Tigue Moore Field at Russo Park. Games will take place at the Youngsville Sports Complex, 801 Savoy Rd. in Youngsville. Admission is free for all games.
Youngsville Sports Complex Director, Tim Robichaux, stated “Our relationship with PONY, which stands for Protecting Our Nation’s Youth, enables us to host these World Series tournaments for our youth. Players, coaches, parents and families throughout the U.S. travel to Youngsville, LA to play and compete. Last week we had 98 teams from all over the country, as well as Mexico, compete in the Girls Fast Pitch World Series. This week we’ll have 48 teams competing in the Shetland, Pinto and Pinto-Plus World Series. Next week, we’ll host the Mustang World Series. These tournaments have a tremendous economic impact on our city, our region and our state. These players and visitors eat in our restaurants, shop in our stores and stay in our hotels and we are proud to have them play at our facility.”
